If you have a single action revolver where the trigger is flat against the back of the trigger guard until you #### it how would you trigger lock it for transport?

A regular trigger lock wont work I take it ??
I have a H&R 22 cal revolver and it has interchangeable cylinders.I used to remove the cylinder and put a cable lock through that area as i didnt have enough trigger locks to go around.

I don't actually own one so I can't test it. But I think if you put a regular trigger lock on you would be able to fan it. This is just one of those things that comes to mind when you are running way to many of the same part at work.

I might be wrong, but the purpose is to disable the firearm during storage and transport. If a trigger lock is not possible, then a cable will suffice. Removing the cylinder is another option since you cannot put any cartridge for the firearm to be considered loaded. Another point of argument is, since your trigger lies flat against the back of the trigger guard, you can still put a trigger lock that will block your finger from pulling the trigger which is still act of safety.

An ordinary trigger lock will fit..it just won't "lock" the trigger ie: block it from moving backwards because it is already back. As long as you have a lock hanging from the trigger guard it doesn't matter if it actually does anything.

it's the same as with levers- unless you go to another kind of lock, you can still work the action- some levers have a neat little tab on the stock that you can lock the lever back to, but you need a standard type lock for that- or the cable running through the action- in view of the law, however, as long as access to the trigger is blocked , you should be good to go

The trigger guard will prevent the trigger from being pulled.
Normally you would put it on your uncocked revolver.

However, if you #### your revolver with the trigger lock ON properly,
you should NOT be able to get at the trigger at all.
There's no way (that I know of) to drop the hammer and fire the revolver while triggerlock is ON.

To fan a revolver you have to ONE #### the hammer, TWO pull the trigger, then keep the trigger pulled while you fan.

If triggerlocked you could do ONE but NOT TWO.

I have two single-action revolvers :yingyang: , and the basic Canadian Tire keyed trigger-locks have always been large enough to cover (and block) the entire area inside the trigger guard....:)
