Hey guys,

I recently purchased a RFB along with a Vortex PST 2.5-10x scope and was wondering if anyone knew of any quick release high mounts (as medium or low are too low) that would be worth looking into?

Check out American Defense MFG, The Shooting edge sells them.

They have AR15 "height" strait-up and cantilever mounts.

I have the "Strait-up LOW" mount on my Tikka T3 Tac bolt gun, and it does indeed keep it's zero, even when removed and re-installed multiple times.

I would say for the RFB as it has the longer rail at the front, the strait-up mounts would work best, as it gives you more flexibility for mounting. But the cantilever mounts will work too. The Recon have 2 locking levers for an ultra solid lock, the "Scout" models have 1 lock lever for quicker optic changes, still a solid hold though.

GG&G (wolverine carries them) also has an AR15 height "strait up" one piece QR mount that I have heard is pretty good, they garauntee a 1/2 MOA or lower return to zero.

Strangely enough TSE doesn't have the "strait-up 30mm" version listed, BUT they do have the SW (strait-up Wide) which has a little more space between the rings. Still has enough room to comfortably fit the PST 2.5-10 though:

The SW version is 15 bucks more than the S, but they are both cheaper than the cantilevered versions.

This is personally what I would go with, the SW mount will be more rigid anyways.

This F22 Raptor guys knows what he's talkin about. :)

ADM mounts all the way... I have the straight version with my NF on my RFB.... sweeeeet.... mine is a 'scout' model, which means only ONE locking lever. Recon models have two. Scout is lighter, and I think just as secure as two levers. Either way, you won't be disappointed.

I've always wondered why guys install those 'PEPR' mounts backwards? Is it to prevent your knuckles from getting skinned when racking the handle?

The PEPR is not a quick detach - not sure how important that is to you, but I like to be able to remove the optic when cleaning the rifle. THe ADM mount returns to zero every time I've put it back on.

Yes. Saves your knuckles when installed backwards so you can keep the charging handle on the left and not need to purchase an oversized hangle. Also I find with it backwards the P.E.P.R and scope are centerd better on the rail. Just for your knowledge the P.E.P.R is available with QD locks.

First picture shows it mounted "properly"

Now that is a nice looking boom stick ;)

Thanks! I think the 2.5-10x24 looks just about perfect...shame they don't make them anymore! It used to have my NF 1-4x, but thought it could use a little more magnification...

My PEPR is quick detach. Think it was $40 more than the standard model and it returns to zero every time.
I didn't know there was a backward, I just installed it the way it worked best for where I wanted the base of it to sit and give proper eye relief.

You can set up the quick release Burris mount so the latches are still on the left and it won't interfere with the charging handle. Instead of having the latches facing forward, rotate them so they face backwards. Have the back latch just slightly back from the where the charging handle sits when the action is locked open. The charging handle will actually go back slightly further when racked than when in the action locked open position. If you set the mount for this it will work perfectly. Balance with scope is at the pistol grip.
