Hi,

I have a couple questions regarding the Rhineland Arms R-22. First off, I wish they never would have quit making these! I've always loved the look of them, and ive decided i want to get one in the new year.....

Does anyone here own one? and what are your thoughts on it? ive read that some of them are prone to FTE/FTF? if so, what are the design flaws, and what remedies, if any are there for these issues?

overall, what are your experiences with this gun? is it fairly accurate? and what kind of Mags. do they take? are there aftermarket high cap mags readilly available?

Does anyone here have one in good to very good condition that would be willing to part with it? or, heres a different kind of offer, I have many RC Helicopters, ranging from "450" size to "600" size, all electric, most Align, a couple of custom built flybarless belt driven, they range from 500 to 2000.00 to build. I also have one large nitro, and one very big (800mm blade) Gasser, I'd certainly be willing to do a trade if anyone were interested in such. ;-)

anyways, what kind of info do you have on this "rare" .22?

TIA,
GiNNz!

I have 1.. I have one that works.. Part of the problem is that the chamber is very tight..
The other problem was the bolts...

They are basically a re-worked ruger so they take 10-22 mags..

AFAIK, TSE imported 60 of them to Canada. I believe at one point they had 10 on the shelf from returns....

I had one. I loved it. Accurate and reliable with decent ammo.

Downsides...

It was a friggen tank.
The screws needed to be threadlocked into place as they backed out constantly.
The origional stock was pathetic, thin and fragile, unfit for a toddlers toy.

An unacceptable number of them flat out didn't work. Some just seemed to be machined wrong.

to be honest you would be better off buying an SR22. The one that I have looks very cool and the barrel is immensely heavy. However this is counterbalanced by a very cheap and placticky butt stock. The main problem seems to be the way in which the mag is held in the mag well. It seems very difficult to get aligned home properly and this causes numerous failiures to feed. If you do have a good day and it is running well then its accurate and a joy to shoot. But all too often the numerous stppages just end up being annoying. Make me an offer I can't refuse.....

I've got one of these things and initially lots of fte and ftf, figured it out afterwards and now its probably my favorite gun to shoot and the girls and newbees love it, not that it is a girls gun. this thing is heavy so not some thing you run around with, set up the bipod and plink away. the upper receiver on mine was machined with too much tolerance so the bolt moved around too much knocking the brass off the ejector and misaligning the bolt so the firing pin would not contact properly, I shimmed the upper receiver between the bolt and receiver and now she runs like a champ, the best part is it seems to like cheap ammo, american eagle .22lr ae22, expensive or cheap ammo it seems to shoot the same, I personally think it shoots better on cheap ammo.
