Has something changed? Placed an order for two stocks then got a call back the same day saying they could shape the stock but could no longer ship them to Canada inletted?

Any suggestion on where to get a semi inletted stock in Canada?

Bob

The ones that Boyds ships to Canada are those under US$100.
Could this be the situation with Richards?

What kind of rifle are you restocking?

Ive tried emailing Richards twice now and never get a response from them. Boyds seems to be a better place to order from and to get a response from too. Got one stock from them and Im happy with what I got.

All part of the U.S. crackdown on the exportation of gun parts. Guy I dealt with a couple of times said he could no longer ship to Canada because the gov't was making him get an export licence.

Oh well. Boyds still have their head on straight.

No it's not. They won't ship to NZ anymore because apparently NZ customs won't let their stocks through - which is total bull#### as e mail inquires reveal that the gun guy at customs said there is no reason they wouldn't let them through. Then they try and say USPS won't deliver them here for the same reason above. We get the feeling we are being bull####ted somehow. They don't seem very interested in sorting out the problem.

Just a note about the $100 Limit.

The exporters STILL have to have a valid US Export Permit, and they still have to report the export to the State Department. However, the "exemption" is the Registered Exporter doesn't have to obtain an individual export licence for each shipment.

And yes, we got #### by a member here for semi finished stocks.

Anyone know what Prophet River charges to bring a stock in from the US.

From Richards we won't even be able to import them "through an importer" because they don't have an export licence. Both the exporter AND the manufacturer have to have export licences.
