Does anyone have information on a Richardson-Overman under-lever, break-action shotgun made in Philadelphia and with a bore of approximately .72 inch/12 gauge which appears to have been made in the 1860s. The action was designed by Gallagher.

A friend bought it. Photographs are available at the following link: http://photoshare.shaw.ca:80/view/3097557911-1311529465-86954/

The first photos show faint stamped markings on the underside of the barrel.

New information: Apparently may be a 12 gauge conversion done by Bannerman Surplus in 1889, but other sources say about 3,000 shotguns were made for officers of the Union Army to use during lulls in the fighting.
