Good Day All!

I've been poking around here for a while and decided it was time to become official-like.

I "hang my hat" in Richmond, BC. It is a great place to be, although I've also spent many of my years in Calgary, AB and Regina, SK.

I'm very interested in military-style rifles which may be a result of my participation in the Canadian Armed Forces (Air Force Reserve). My collection is far from complete, however, I'm sure many of you understand the financial limitations set forth by the better-half.

Currently, I'm the proud owner of a Mossin-Nagant, SVT-40, SKS, Lee Enfield in .22, and a Lee Enfield in 303 British. I've just added a Norinco CQ-A 5.56 to my collection, but have only had one chance to introduce it to the range.

Overall, I very much enjoy my time at the range. While it hurts to fling money down-range, I find it very relaxing to do so. I'm currently thinking of investing in the reloading equipment, but am a bit concerned with the process and safety of doing so.

I'm always on the lookout for my next acquisition whether it be a new rifle, a bipod, or a fancy scope (although, most of my gear is factory original with iron sights).

I should mention that I also work with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets and take them shooting regularly-- that is about once or twice a month-- as I am the Chief Range Safety Officer of the Squadron. We use the Anschutz .22 rifles which are approved for cadet use.

I used to be a fairly good shot as a young lad, but my eyes aren't as good as they used to be. This means that my iron sight rifles are more difficult to keep in a tight grouping. I'm working on it by looking at scopes or shooting glasses with my mild prescription.

I've completed the Range Warden course at my club, so can open up the range on the "unused" time-slots-- although there are very few of those now.

I'm here to learn as much as possible and perhaps lend some assistance where I can. I hope that passes as an introduction, let me know if more information is needed!
