Ok, so I am sure many of you know about the US and their various ammos they manufacture. As well, I am sure many of you have heard of "exotic shotgun ammo" - ridiculous shotgun ammos, that really have no purpose.

For those of you that DON'T know, or maybe have seen very little, have a gander at this website, and enjoy reading some of the descriptions. (I laughed at some of the names of the ammo too.... Seriously, I think only in America will you have double slugs and the piranha - maybe somewhere in Asia too. lol)

Ridiculous no? I mean, maybe it'd be fun to shoot a watermelon or coconut with one or two of those rounds, but I question what it does to your barrel, and why market it as defense ammo (some of it). it reminds me of something the weird kid in high school would make in his parents basement. :p

Some of that stuff is interesting. The pair of round balls attached by a length of wire has some benefit for a gun that won't pattern with anything else. The impact of the two balls will never spread wider than the length of the wire.

Buckshot mixed with bird shot has been around a very long time. Flechettes are useful for shredding jungle foliage, but the usefulness of a .410 version is questionable. I can see some homeowner loading up his Taurus Judge with that stuff, and the bad guy being driven to violence after being turned into a pin cushion. A roundball would penetrate less than an elongated slug, and due to its weight would recoil less. That might have an application where over-penetration is a safety issue. By contrast, an armor piercing 12 ga round is optimistic to say the least.

I didn't see any Dragon's Breath or wooden slugs.

Would work good for bear defense

Its there: http://www.firequest.com/G12-013.html

they call it flame thrower aka dragon's breath

And on a side note: Great for turkey hunting. If your gun just won't pattern... Heck, cook the turkey right on the spot and eat it on the way back to the truck! :p

Odd names, very old concepts. The ball and chain one dates back to civil war cannon rounds used for cutting down a line of the enemy, flechettes; well we all know what they are used for and were very useful in the vietnam conflict. Dragons breath, well I have no idea what its for, but it sure does make a pretty flame. And the different sized shot could be found in a round called the "SSG". And to make a final comment, the one with the slug on top of the buckshot, well that goes back to the civil war as well, more commonly known as "Buck and Ball", fired from muzzle loaders.

I love the 'Confetti Ammo'. Hilarious fun! I just wish we could be able to use something like this on a grand outdoor occasion up here in Canada. A 10-15 foot circle of confetti in the air... Ah well, if only to dream... :)

And the 'Flamethrower'? 50 feet of fire? Where the heck could you safely use that? Over water?

This stuff amounts to some strange novelty items for a shotgun barrel. Wow. Our southern cousins are funny-odd. ;)

Is this actually real and legal even in the US? I thought it was going to be super stupid and silly, which well most of it is but it is also veryy interesting to say the least

Imagine mistaking your shells, and accidentally loading your gun with confetti blast, rather than pepper blast? LOL

OR vice versa at a wedding?! hahah

HAHAHA.

Intruder breaks into your house only to find a full on f******g welcoming parade.
OR
"how was the wedding?"
"oh, it was great, there wasn't a dry eye in the place"
"really? thats amazing"
"uh, yeah, um about that..."

the Rhodesian jungle seems kinds of pointless, we all know bird shot doesn't have that penetration the fbi recommends....
the pit bull on the other hand......

Bahahaha Picture a 1950s American Family: "Welcome to our humble abode... Please, sit down, have some cake! The jewelry is upstairs on your right, the safe combo is 45-65-70, and we'll just handle tying ourselves up down here in the meantime, so no need to worry about that. We hope you enjoy your looting and theiving in our little home tonight! We're just SO happy you came!"
