I wasn't able to find something on this so here we go!

I'd love to see all of your rifle builds compiled in one place. Include all the details and some great pictures! Anything from classy wood stocked builds, to the ultimate in lightweight hunting, moderate builds to full-on customs! Any game, age, or caliber. Show us your builds! :D

build

Actually I would not call this a built just
an assembly of parts/.

Started with an Anschutz 1710 D HB

Installed into a GRS Hybrid Laminate stock

Traded the original 5096 trigger with a
5119 two stage , set down to 175 gr pull weight .

Over sized Anschutz 25mm bolt knob.

Installed a Biathlon Xtended magazine release
along with a 10 round magazine.

Cradled in a Mystic Precision Mpod .

Mounted Talley 34mm spilt rings holding
a Bushnell DMR ll 3.5-21x50 ill. scope 3G reticle
w/power throw handle.

We've been grouping 10 shots in 30mm @ 100 mtrs
We will endeavor to trim that to 25mm this season ... skwerl

Not necessarily a reply to you specifically but its bound to come up. Also that rifle is absolutely beautiful, love the colors of the stock.

It's ridiculous when people say that something is not a build. It can be anywhere between a small simple build to an extremely in depth fully custom build. Its still a build.

When you build a house you buy pre manufactured materials and you put it together, a home builder doesn't require they go cut down a tree and shape it into roof trusses.
When you build a muscle car you buy all the parts and you put them together, you don't necessarily mine the iron, smelt it, and engineer it into parts.
When you build a gaming computer you buy all the parts and assemble them, you don't create semiconductors and create every part needed.
When you build with Lego you have all the pieces and you put the together, you don't melt down plastics into molds and make your own pieces.
When you build a computer program you use an existing code language to make a program, you don't create the language.

People act like building a rifle means creating every part from raw materials. I could see if they said they created a rifle it being false. Building is the action of choosing specific parts and assembling them into something. If you chose the parts and you assembled it, it is a build. Half the work was choosing what you wanted, the other half is putting it together. So yes building a rifle meets the definition and common use of the word "build" on all levels.

If that doesn't count as building then I guess only manufacturers build rifles.

This one is my one, only and last Chassis rifle, kind of an accidental build, I bought a 7 08 Ruger compact for my grandson to use and He has lost interest in hunting, so I stumbled on a used MDT chassis that is designed for a Gunsite Scout did a little research bought a folding stock adaptor and sourced a few other parts, and a little work with a dremel on a couple of magazines a 3 round and a 5 round. All the joy of working with Lego for me. I will give it a try for Mule deer but to be honest although I like the length of pull better than the compact stock I don't see the chassis rifle living outside the safe too often. I am holding on to the rifle and the original laminate stock for a Granddaughter who may be a hunter someday. Working on one of these will never be as satisfying for me as something like re-finishing a walnut stock or installing a grind to fit recoil pad, but now I know.

I couldn't agree more!

I am loving that Model 70! What trigger did you use, if different from factory? Who did the work on the build?

It's a tuned factory trigger. M70 triggers can get tuned up nicely. At least I think it is, Bartell assembled all the parts and got it built for me by Rocky Mtn (Corlanes) Bartell probably knows more about it than I do. :)

A couple new ones in the works, just waiting on a carbon IBI for my 7 saum

My current project

One I recently finished

I built this a few years ago with my wife, its a 7-08 that weighs a hair over 6 lbs with the scope and a 22 inch barrel. The pictures were taken with an old crummy phone but it shows a bit of the build.

You certainly are correct , I have seen the other angle where the forum would jump all
over an individual if they had assembled some accessories & called it a build.

I'm a good CDN & don't want to offend any one .... skwerl
