Hello all I was wondering if you all had Amy advice on what innards to put in a 300 blackout rifle, I know you canake cases from 223 Remington, but the bolt, mags and the trigger group, can someone help me out.

I have heard it's the 223 with 308 Springs, I am soooo confused and mind boggled by this now

Ok i figured as much Thanks hbean, I should get the spring upgrades tho eh
You shouldn't have to, since the 300Blk uses less powder than .223, a standard .223/5.56 carbine spring and a standard weight buffer is all you needed, a heavy .308 spring would cause more problems.

Yup, only thing I've changed was the barrel and the ammo. Everything else is stock 223 parts mags, bolt etc.

Just don't accidentally shoot 300BLK in your 223 rifle. Rule of thumb for me is NO 300BLK ammo on the shooting bench when shooting 223 rifle. All it takes is to accidentally pickup a mag loaded with 300BLK that you thought was 223 and KABOOM.

I don't even take my 223 and 300BLK rifles to the range on the same days. Too easy to get mixed up, especially if you let someone else shoot your rifles.
I have three 300BLK rifles and love each of them. You will definitely want to reload if you're going to run 300BLK though, factory ammo isn't too hard to find but it is fairly expensive. May as well just shoot 308 if you don't handload.
Don't get confused by the .308 caliber, this is nowhere near a 308win/7.62×51 in performance.

As stated before, you only swap the barrel and everything else is standard 223/5.56 parts. No need for heavy buffers or springs either.

As much as I love the cartridge, I don't really recommend it to people who are only going to run an AR. The 223 has a much better trajectory and is cheaper to shoot so if you're just going to be playing at the range it doesn't make a lot of sense to own just to make bigger holes in paper. It is however a lot of fun to shoot, the recoil impulse is different than a 5.56 rifle. Two of my 300BLK rifles are non restricted and since I love building AR's it only made sense to me to put together an AR chambered for this cartridge.

If you need some help with your build feel free to PM me and I'll try to help clear up any questions you have. If there is anything I can't answer I can connect you to a buddy of mine one the site who has even more experience than I do with the cartridge. I've been running 300BLK for three or four years now and have been handloading and making brass from once fired 223 casings for it since I bought my first rifle.

Nice, i have plans for a few rifles but 300 blackout and 308 are the mains, saves bullet costs lol, but alas I like 180 for my 308 and will try lighter for 300, any advice on what weight bullets for it?

I mostly shoot 110gr V-max and 155 A-max through mine, I also have 150, 165, and 208 grain that I shoot regularly.
You can easily shoot 180gr through the 300BLK, finding suitable powder for 300BLK is the hardest thing to source. You use shotgun and magnum pistol powder mostly. H110, Trailboss, LiL'gun, IMR4227, A1680 are the most common powders used.
