Hey guys,
I'm thinking about building a Combo Percision/hunting rifle. I'm thinking that I would love to use the Knoxx Axiom V/S stock and build a rig using one of the action types specified.

Axiom V/S Model & Part Number MSRP
Remington short-action (#90000) $489.95
Remington long-action (#90001) $489.95
Howa 1500/ Weatherby Vanguard Short Action (#90500) $489.95
Axiom Ultra-Light Model & Part Number MSRP
Howa 1500/ Weatherby Vanguard Short Action Utra-Light (#97500) $289.95
Howa 1500/ Weatherby Vanguard Long Action Ultra-Light (#97501) $289.95

Anyone have any ideas as to a good action to use for something reasonably heavy but with cheaper ammunition. I was thinkin' about .300WSM, .300WM or even .375 Ruger (Gatehouse got me thinkin' about it :D). It would be nice to have something with a 4 or 5 shot mag but I dunno if there is anything like that available.

So with a an action picked out I was thinkin' it would be nice to have a heavy, fluted barrel.

Thoughts.....

Those are US prices. Will Knoxx do the paperwork and sell direct, or is there a Cdn. supplier?
If you want a heavy fluted barrel, and are thinking in terms of a factory barrelled action, a Remington Sendero would work and it would just be a swapping of stocks.
There is nothing wrong with the Howa made actions, whether they are marked Howa, Weatherby, S&W or Mossberg. You would be looking at a custom barrel. With flutes, add 6-700 dollars to the action cost. If you aren't using a factory barrelled action, make sure whatever action you choose is compatible with the cartridge you decide upon.
