rifle chassis decisions

I am about to order a chassis system for my rem 700 7mm, I am stuck between the mdt hs3 and the xlr element or the evolution. I am leaning towards the xlr element rite now but would be nice to hear some pros and cons before i order. Its hard to decide when i cant hold them and get a feel for them.

I shoot a MAK Tube Rifle myself. Here's why...

The Rem 700 in it's natural form is useless for trapping the blast of powder if you rupture a case. You can expect to get plastered in the face and eyes with gun powder moving about 2000 fps. The MAK tube kit encapsulates the back of the action and protects the shooter from this. If the case was to rupture the gasses would be trapped in the end cap, saving your eyes.

In addition to the added safety factor is this tube gun is drilled for a tight fit with the diameter of the Rem 700 action. This tight fit is necessary so that you can epoxy the action into the tube. This stiffens the action and stiff is the name of the game if you want accurate. Remmies need help with stiffness.

The problem with the aluminum chassis stocks is they don't stiffen the action like the MAK will. The MDT at first glance appears to be very similar to the MAK but it's not. The hole is so much larger than the action that gluing the action will serve absolutely no purpose. In practical terms the MDT is just like the chassis stocks. It's better than wood but certainly not better than a real tube rifle.

Of the MAK and Elisio I went with the MAK because it accepts AR15 grip and butt stock. The Elisio limits you to what they produce, plus the elisio is a bit more expensive.

Any XLR Chassis would be an excellent pick and they will back it 100%. I had done some damage to one of mine that was 100% my fault and he sent out new parts regardless (for free). A great product and now with their own folder assembly (wickedly good) and the Carbon Fiber one looks great too! Where are you located? Might be a CGNer with a similar chassis close by.
 
I had an XLR and liked it but didn't love it. Fit and finish were great, fit of my Pierce Ti was great, ergonomics of the chassis were good but I actually found it too light. My complete rifle was 8lbs but it seemed to jump around while shooting. Chambering was in a 6SLR so not exactly a heavy recoiling calibre.

I am actually looking at the Cadex Strike Lite as we speak and Patrice was super nice explaining all about it and sending me pictures but I can't stomach paying $2500 all in for a stock. There are too many other superb options for stocks and other things to spend money on.

I'll probably just end up going back to a McMillanor try a Manners if iI can find one.
