I have a Peruvian mauser that needs a proper conservation process, boil the metal, remove rust, touch up bluing, total clean, soft restoration of stock, rrpair of crack in upper handgard, this gun is nice shape but very neglected, even has some paint.

Looking for experienced person the east GTA, or pthrrwise in ontario to conserve this and a few others. I am happy to pay but im not rich so needs to be a project of passion.

Message me if interested.27335.jpg

In other words you are looking for a freebee, why don't you do it yourself?

Freebee ^ Sounds more-so {he's saying} along the lines of maybe a Retired' knowledgable gun guy, or retired Gun Smith, who will do it for < less then an actively working & licensed gun smith...No?

If I were to disassemble a milsurp, de-rust and de-cosmo the action and just clean the wood, for a gun like the one pictured, that’s about 3 hours of work. I’d charge about 300. To restore the wood, I’d need to know how much patching and repair work is needed or desired, but generally would be in the 100 per hour range.

Nobody is doing that for free unless it’s a relative.

Never mind the tools needed, the wear and tear in those tools, etc.

Honestly, it would be cheaper to bead blast the gun and re-blue it than the sympathetic restoration you envision.

I might be weird but I’d de-cosmo someone’s rifle for free. I love the smell. I find the process highly cathartic. Maybe it takes me back to fonder days.

Hey im not looking for anything free just looking for someone who has knowledge and skills and doesn't charge $100 an hour lol. Also, there are many strategies to conserve the gun, I am looking for a proposal from someone in the area, i have many rigles I would like to conserve, not just one.
