So today I worked on the "Phone Number" drill my buddy showed me.

Basically go through phone numbers in your head and shoot the numbers (with area code) It's perfect for 2 five round mags or 1 ten rd mag.

So I did, my BB, the store number, the store fax and house number. For the number 0 I use 10.

The other numbers shot were part of something else.

After that I made my brain work a bit more and would pull a contact up on my BB, quickly try and remember the number, then shoot that.

To get going before this, I would shoot 1, 2, 3 , 4, 5 with one shot, up to 24 then back down, on a different target.

Interesting drill, i like it. What distance is your rifle zero'd for? With the zero I have on my AR, I would have to aim slightly over those symbols at 15 yards to keep them in the center.

I think that explains why most of the shots are lower than center. Mine would be about 2-3" holdover at that distance.

Yeah, I'm assuming the squares are roughly 2"x2".

I do most of my drills on 8.5" pie plates 15 yards then have a series of drills I do at 75, 125 and 200 yards, all these utilizing the range gongs. With my current zero I'm pretty much point and pull out to 200 yards (for practical use anyway).

Today, about 15yds.

I'm running the Vortex PST 1-4 which has exposed turrets. So I'm able to dial in my zero extremely fast.

It usually takes me less than 10 rounds, and under 2 min to dial it in.

I'm also not looking to dial it in exactly. Most of my shooting is done under 50yds, so I don't worry about benching it at 100yds and putting 5 shots on the bulleye. I also adjust the zero every time I shoot as for me, I prefer not to hold off.

As well I shoot at 4 different ranges, so that plays with the zero as well.

Lately I've been shooting an average of 3 times a week, so again, zeroing at 100yds or 50yds and then shooting from 5 to 30yds doesn't make life easy. :D

That's cool, I was just wondering. I wish I could shoot three times a week!

I run a 75 yard zero on mine which gives me the following POI (according to the ballistic program - 10.25" barrel):

Muzzle -2.8"
50 Yards +0.6
100 Yards + 0.3
200 Yards - 2.8

I've shot this zero for months now and it works as it's supposed to, you just have to be aware of your hold over at shorter distances.

a CM or head is over 8" so its still a kill........who cares if its 2" high or low if its a solid hit? I #### with my knobs when I shoot my LTR if I want a bang on hit

and add to the fact that if running a Reddot with a 4MOA dot its really a non point

looking at Farmboys target there all A zone hits on a IDPA/IPSC target so well done!

^^I don't believe anyone said Farmboys shooting was bad. It is very good actually. I just wanted to know what his zero was.

I just zero 50 meters so from muzzle too 200 meter its dead no hold over/under

I was just confused by your dead on statement. It's all good.:)

Since the tread is totally hijacked anyway, I run an optic with adjustable turrents. I have and 100 yard, 25 yard (300 yrd too) and 10 yrd zero for CQB with the ORA.

Actually I have zeros marked on the stock out to 500 that were calculated and seem to match reality or close enough.

Normally I leave my rifle on it's 25 yard zero. I'm going to try the 10 yard at the next match to see if it helps me keep hits in the bull on a Figure 11 during a rapid dump before transitioning to my pistol.

no worries I shoot to kill and score FAST thats all, even with the few rounds that did not hit there numbers its still good at speed is what I was saying
