Rifle for my Grandson

Don't rule out a single shot rossi either. They come with open sites, aren't to heavy, shoot decent and won't set you back too much coin. When and if the time comes for an upgrade, you should get a good chunk of your investment back.A single wil teach him to make the first shot count also.

Nomad 68 you make a very good point about the single shot and making the first one count. To often when hunting you hear 5 shots so rapidly I would doubt they even hit a TREE. thanks

I was offered a CVA Apex in .243 @ a very reasonable price a couple weeks ago....I can see if he still has it if interested...

I love my Enfields but the last couple seasons I have used a Handi-Rifle in .308Win. and have shot as many deer as I could have with a ten shot magazine of .303Br.
