Rifle identification/background

I was recently given a 30-06 rifle, its marked U.S. remmington 03-A3 with a serial #339###x, it has Fajen molded into the buttstock, and no other markings on the rifle, the previous owner had not fired this rifle for 20+ years and didn't know much about it himself. Its i good shape with a decent bore, but being a relative newb to these type of rifles any help with background/quality of rifle general info would be appreciated.

Just a suggestion - if the surviving metal parts are unaltered - the military barrelled action was dropped into the Fajen stock - the rifle would be restorable, and would likely be worth more restored than sporterized. 03A3s are not all that common in Canada.
 
You can get parts from the US very easily. Even stocks in VG++ condition, Pict would be nice too.

"...look to be original..." There will be stampings all over it then. 1903A3's are fine hunting rifles. Your's is a "sporterized" milsurp that was made in 1942. They're the U.S. equivalent of the No. 4 Lee-Enfield for post-war sporterizing.
Remington was given a contract in 1941 to build M1903 rifles. They immediately started working on design changes to speed up production. Two groove rifling, a receiver mounted peep sight and a few other minor changes. This rifle was approved in 1942 and called a 1903A3.
Is the receiver peep sight still there?

Restored, correct parts, All the same condition. Over all rifle in VG+ condition with a mint bore. They are worth around $600 - $800( high in my opinion). Depends on now pretty she is. 1903-A3's are not a nice as the 1903-A1's, The 03's have sheet metal parts like the trigger guard & barrel bands. The bolts were sub contracted and it is not uncommon to see barrels with 2 grooves or 4 grooves. Barrels were replaced often made by Springfield armonry, Remington Smith corona, Some marked USMC.

Rebuilds were marked on the left nad side under the bolt release withe arsenals code.
