So I was talking with a hunting partner and he was talking about an insert he had years ago for his shotguns that would let him fire a rifle round. I remember a few years ago seeing a thread about the very same thing and got to thinking it would be nice to get one or two but not having much luck finding one that isn't manufactured in the USA and we all know how that goes. So I figured I'd ask the fine people here if they know of anyplace that manufactures, imports or sells rifle inserts for shotguns.

Cheers CK

Just did a quick google search. I thought Briley out of Texas would be of help, but it isn't. They only do shotgun inserts (20 guage into 12, and the like)
But mcace.com out of Alaska does what you're looking for. They have inserts that fit into your double or single shot and they have a huge selection of different caliber choices.
You could buy two .22 hornet inserts and have that double rifle for wounded charging bunnies you've always wanted!

Many good ones are made in Germany and Austria. Google the word "Einstecklauf" ( insert barrel ) The German / Austrian inserts are commonly used in combination guns and are very precisely made. Be prepared to spend as much as for a cheap north american rifle! ww.einstecklauf.de I have a couple of short Krieghoff inserts for .22 LR and .22 mag in my drillings, they work very well. Accurate, adjustable, and return to zero every time.

It is possible to remove the fired brass with a fingernail, or do you have to use a stick? The 8" 45 Colt looks useful on gunadapters, I was just wondering how fiddly the reloads are.

not sure about the 8 " but my standard models came with rods but the 410 could just be pulled with a fingernail
