On the second saturday of each month, Tri-County gun club in Sherwood has a practical rifle competition. Most matches are practical rifle (like assault rifle) matches, with specialty matches like sniper, night shoot, classic battle rifle, and 3 gun.

New shooters must attend a one time safety briefing that starts at 0830am. Shooting starts around 930am, and usually ends around 1 or 2pm.

There is an excellent chance that we could arrange for loaner rifles so that bringing firearms across the border isn't an issue. Probably the best plan would be to meet at the range on the Friday before the match to confirm zero on the rifle you would be using.

If you are interested, send me an email, and I'll give you more information.

The match on 14 February will be one of the two annual sniper matches. The second sniper match is usually in August. Night match is in December.

The matches are set up to be lots of fun, and we strongly discourage the cutthroat competition, and arrogant attitude seen in some of the other shooting sports. The goal is safe fun, and straight forward shooting competition.

At most matches, the targets range from 25 to 450 yards as we get to shoot in a huge gravel pit. No one knows what the stages will be until Friday when it is set up because we don't know the configuration of the pit until we get there. Match directors have a general idea what they want to do though.
