so last year i set up a little target range on my ranch using round hay bales. two high and two deep and five across.
but i recently got a new savage .308 and was wondering how well the hay bales are at stopping the bullets. should i add a few moew behind the other ones?

i was going to bring some plywood out and stick it behind to see if any bullets are going through but A) i dont want to waste the wood and its quite a long walk and B) i figured the Gun nutz here would know more,

oh so it is, my bad for some reason i just assumed this was the forum for all target stuff :S, see i was right though you do know more haha.

yah i suppose your right i could use the exercise. and now i wont have to cart a huge piece of plywood out there i can use cardboard, lol thanks for the help :p

Are you feeding these round bales to anything or just letting them rot? I don't know for fact, but i do know that cattle will eat nails and staples if they are in a bale. Stands to reason that they would eat your lead bullets too. Just a thought, I've never had a cow die from my arrow heads (field tips).
