A friend and I share a reloading room and both load for pistol with Dillon SDB's.
He wants to load 303 for all his Lee Enfields plus he also wants to load .222.
I don,t load for rifle so,can,t help him on what gear he needs.
Once we have all the gear together,an experienced rifle reloader is going to come over and show him how to reload for rifle.
I already have calipers, tumbler and separator.
My buddy just picked up a Rockchucker Supreme,so he has the press.
I have a Dillon Digital scale, but have been advised a beam scale is easier for
trickling and weighing.
Here is what has been reccomended.
Hornady New Dimension dies.... 303 and .222
Lee factory crimp dies
RCBS 10/10 beam scale
RCBS Trickler
RCBS powder measure(which one?)
Debburing tool
Primer pocket cleaner
Set of funnels
Large and small primer tubes for the rockchucker
Shell holders
Case trimmer... need input on this.
Anything I've missed.
All opinions greatly appreciated.
Thanks

My recommendations:

-Get the 110v case prep station. Makes case preparation a snap.
-Ditch the primer tubes, and buy a hand primer.
-Whatever dies that float your boat (I like RCBS) but convert the rockchucker to the Hornady lock-n-load quick release. -way fast and always repeatable.
-The Basic 5-0-5 scale will do just fine.
-The trickler is a waist of money imho -I use a spoon:rolleyes: :D
-Case trimmer - not sure it matters (mine is an RCBS) but you may want to have the option to retrofit a motor at some time down the road.
If he bought the Supreme kit, did he not get the 'package' with scale, trimmer, etc, etc.?

Edit ** I had the scale name wrong **

Depends on what you're doing. I've had both, the 10-10:
- settles a lot faster.
- is slightly more repeatable.
- has a built-in dust/storage cover - which is worth the price of admission all on it's own.

Beltfed's advice on the hand primer is right-on. As for a primer pocket cleaner, if you are tumbling, you won't need it.
For a case trimmer, the Lee set-up is slow but accurate, tho' not adjustable.
For the powder measure, the Uniflow is the RCBS one that I had. It was OK.
If he's going to throw most of his charges straight into the cases he really doesn't need a trickler; but, if he's just going to use the powder measure to throw powder into the scale pan, get the cheapest measure you can find, or even the Lee powder dippers.
