Hello all,
I am currently in the market to purchase my first precision rifle. I have narrowed my selection down to 3 rifles, all remington 700's in .308. I am looking at the 700P, the LTR, and the VSF.
I will be usinmg this rifle primarily at the range, however, it will also be what I take hunting when I go. I have read on here that people would not want to take primarily the 700P hunting. Is that due to the wieght of the rifle for packing through the bush? Or is the weight going to be a factor when shooting unsupported?
Also, I understand that due to the shorter barrel the LTR has less muzzle velocity than the P or VSF. Is that going to be an issue when trying to bring down bigger game?
Any help or reccomendations are appreciated. While I am certain I want one of these 3, I am having a hell of a time deciding which one.
Thanks for your time,
Stu
