Now the first I aint much a Scope or Optics Person I have better aim using Irons at 600m then Scopes :/ even on proper sighted rifles.

Most Scopes I use are Milspec WW1-WW2 which work for me no problem but never used modern optics at all...

But overall 90% of my shooting is with Iron Sights German and Russian style.

Got a Savage 338 LRH Lapua have the Mounts no matter point of aim point of impact is always 3ft+ over target even at longer Ranges. I am using Medium Height Rings cause of 50mm Optic. I am getting a lower mount incase that helps. But maxing out the setting to bring Point of aim to compensate for high shots doesnt fix the Point of Impact.

I am wondering if Maybe I should shim something to slant the Scope? Gonna take it out tonight to see whatever I do fixes it

Changing ring height won't help unless your medium rings are faulty. It sounds like one ring is higher than the other. New rings would help that. Have you got a photo of the set up?

If your performance with irons is besting that with optics, you're not using the optic properly, period. Lots of reading, and seek professional help with setting up your glass. Your first sentence tells me you have limited experience with optics which means you don't really have a clue. The second sentence then indicates that you can't shoot well with optics, even when they're properly setup. So my question is this. After admitting you're not well versed in optics, how did you come to the conclusion that the other rifles you've shot with optics are "proper sighted rifles"?

What make and model of optic? Who's rings? Who mounted it?

The other rifles I have that are sighted in properlly were installed by my Gunsmith from where I came from that required Drilling and Tapping. The Current Rifle uses a MOA rail that I installed several Mounts myself. I have installed other Mounts on Pictanniy Rails before and they have worked. But for some reason on this 338 Lapua Savage lrh i just cant get it right at all.

Now My gunsmith is 20 hrs away and his health as degraded to the point I wouldnt want to bother him anymore with that stuff. I installed a new Quick Attach Mount kit which I will try incase the last ones were Off spec or etc. I have a Low Ring Kit otw as well because the scope itself seems toooo high with the Medium Rings

what scope are you using
and are you saying that your scope has run out of internal elevation adjustment to lower your POI to where your POA is? Usually its the other way around with POI is too low.
good luck , someone here will have an answer for you.

Here's my guess, the rail on the rifle has about 20moa built into it. If you are running out of elevation and you are still shooting high, turn the knob the other direction.

We need to know the make and model of all parts involved, rings, base, and scope. Pics would be a great help as well.

What ever the problem is or what ever you do to solve it - do not shim rings. Shim the base. If it is shooting too high, you need to raise the front of the base.

well tried the Mounts and Scope on a few other rifles for fun and it seems to work fine there. I also tried some other Vortex Scopes and random mounts on the Rifle so I am starting to wonder if its maybe the Rail on the Rifle gonna order a new one for it and see if that does it
