I'm looking for a rifle sling that is comfortable to use while riding a snowmobile and won't allow the rifle to move. Wondering if anyone can suggest anything?

I've carried a few of my rifles with standard slings while riding, and find they are always shifting, sliding down my arm, or rotating in attempt to become parallel to the ground or pointing barrel down.

Thanks.

I use Browning Xcelerator sling. Adjustable slide for different lenghts supported off-hand, shoulder carry, over your back, etc. Comes with swivels and different camo colors. All around great sling.

i use a 5.11 tactical sling, i have never ridden a snowmobile/etc with one on, but i do know it snugs up really good and tight with a longgun on the back

I use the browning xcelerator also. It is too slippery to have over only one shoulder though, have to have it across your back. The old leather ones are pretty grippy and don't move around much. On my skidoo I pack my rifle along the tunnel in a leather scabbard with the stock sticking out the back. If I'm packing my shotgun on the skidoo and want it handy I sling it across my chest, barrel down to the left. Not insinuating anything but dual throttle kits are also handy for this type of carry:)

When you are snowmobiling, is the rifle across your back or your chest? Slinging it across your chest, muzzle up with the barrel resting on your arm keeps the snow off it and it is more inclined to stay in place regardless of your sling choice. It also provides better control when maneuvering the machine between trees.

Thanks guys. I use just a standard leather sling, on 1 shoulder. Neither of my slung rifles have sling long enough to go across my back with my big down coat on. I don't need to be able to draw the rifle quickly (normally!!), just get it from A to B without constantly having it slip or fall down my arm.

Down the tunnel in a tough leather case might be a goood way to go, but I do like having the rifle a bit handier than that.

That Vero Vellini souble sling looks pretty slick.

Sling it across your back and you won't haev any more problems. Nothing will hold it over one shoulder and keep it from wanting to rotate.

I use Butler Creek Neoprene Rifle slings on most of my "walking" rifles. They are made out of thick neoprene and are backed by a "shark skin" rubberized pad that won't slip off your shoulder.

These are the most comfortable slings I have found and come in black, brown and camo.
