I know there was a recent thread on this but I'll post anyways since I'm looking for something more specific. I'm getting pretty tired of dragging a massive hard case down the stairs and out into the parking lot where I live.

I see that there's a quite a bit of selection out there, including Canadian gear. I'll get a classic "drag bag" if necessary but I'm looking more for the Eagle Industries style bag ... the kind that turns onto a shooting mat as well.

What am I looking at for options? So far I have only found Eagle Industries but they only make a 47" case. My rifles are 48" in length.

If this doesn't pan out I'd be looking at the Voodoo bags or Condor bags (can get through Canadian dealers). Anyone have anything good to say about them?

I have a NC star rifle bag in 48" and tan coloured. Excellent quality. I think that marstar sells them still. Has loads of room for other stuff too. Comes in black also. I'd recommend.

i currently use a double 42" condor and it works for what it is.

i would not use it for field or heavy use, the quality is no where comparable to my maxpedition gear.

if i only need a single softcase for AR15 then get the maxpedition sliver II.

i need 42" + for my rifle and shotgun.

I'm looking for a case myself. I'd like a case/mat. I just measured 50.5" tip to tail. It would be about 52" with all the spacers in. I'm looking for a recomendation for something someone has. I'd hate to spend $120-$150 and end up with a POS.

Laugh2 So $150 looks a bit optimistic. $240 us for the Blackhawk Long Gun Drag Bag...Bahh!

Have a look at centerthegroup. com for soft cases, mats and drag bags.

My thoughts on a dragbag/mat combo.
All the crap you put in the pockets needs to come out to use it as a flat shooting mat. If you are laying on the dragbag/shooting mat and get caught in a piss down rain, you now need to put your rifle in a wet case.

:D I had considered that. I'm going to get a floor mat to shoot off of. Any suggestions for a pattern?

Looks like nice stuff, thanks maynard! The prices look ok too. Now I don't have to look like I'm getting ready to face east. Hmm, is that bad etiquette?

The wailing usually starts after the last shot is fired and the scores are posted:p

We did a group buy on Arktis Drag bags a few years ago through Farmboy @ One Shot Tactical........IIRC, the Group buy price was $250.00 + shipping.

Well made bag with lots of straps to secure your rifle and other gear.

I don't think these unfold to a shooting mat but Tac Ops makes some of the best drag bags out there. Pricey but worth the money!

Decided to go with a Voodoo drag bag that I found online for pretty cheap. Will get a dedicated shooting mat to just throw into the trunk of my car. Centerthegroup looks like it has some nice ones.
