Does someone know's if it's possible to change the rifling in the barrel from 1/12 to 1/8 ? I have a Thompson Encore rifle barrel in .22-250 and want to change it to a .22-243 with a faster twist for the heavier bullet. The rechambering is not a problem but what about the rifling ?

Just bring it over and clamp it in my vise. I have a big pipe wrench to crank a few more turns of twist into it!

No you cannot change the rate of twist.

You can have a barrel maker rebore and re-rifle the barrel.
If it works out, it will cost you around the same as a new barrel. If it does not work out, it will cost you around the price of two new barrels, One time to cover the labour (whether it works or not) and one time to cover the replacement.
Buy a barrel and have it fitted. For an Encore, buy a new barrel assembly.
