Rifled choke

Hi Guys/gals
I was wondering what is the proper slug that should be fired through a rifled choke. Is it a Sabot slug or the rifled slug?? Or is it up for debate??

Sabot only. it will say on the box of slugs something like rifled barrels only.

rifled chokes don't tend to work all that well from my limited experience

Generally, you can fire a rifled slug thru any barrel and choke except for the maybe the tightest "turkey" chokes. Some sabot slugs are not advised for use in rifled choke tube. If I remember correctly, Remington had a warning about only using their Copper Solid slugs in rifled barrel and that they should not be used in the standard Rem-Choke rifled tube. When in doubt, go with the manufacturer's recommendations...slug and/or gun.
