i sighted in my mossberg 930 with rifled slug barrel. I have a williams firesight front and rear open sights installed. With the rear sight as low as it will adjust the best I can get is 2 inch high at 50 yards using Win XP3 saboted. I didn't bother with 100 yd shots as with open sights there is no accuracy at all due to the shooter.

Anyone else have any experience with the XP3 and open sights? Would 2 inch high at 50 yd and the sight at the limit of adjustment be normal?
thanks!

Try different slugs. I bought hornady ssts for my 20 guage (expensive) slugs and my gun shot 5 to 6 inches high at 50 yards and I couldn't adjust my elevation anymore to lower it. I bought cheap federal slugs for 4 something a box and they were bang on. Slug barrel with open fire sights as well

Try Rem Copper Solids if you want sabots. For rifled slugs, try the challengers. 2" high at 50 isnt bad, puts you on at 100.

Yeah, i would just stick with 2" high at 50, then you're golden to shoot anywhere you can see, i do the same with my rifler scopes, set them high at 100 so they're a bit low at 200, then i just put the crosshairs on and shoot, i don't try to hold over at all
