Rifled slugs at 230 yards

I know this is one of hickok's older vids, but somehow I missed it and thought the shotgun forum might benefit. Seen alot of questions regarding the range of rifled slugs. Look deadly at 230, not overly accurate - but deadly.

 
Not that accurate? He's free-handing that on open sights from 230 yards...I'd call that plenty accurate.

He's also a hell of a shot, apparently.
 
A cannonball can have a lot of destructive energy, but whats the trajectory like at 230 yards?

easy to test, shoot from a point level with the target and set a block of styrofoam so the face is square to you and shoot, once you hit it you could see the angle it fell at by cutting open the block
 
I remember being at the range last year in the winter. Shooting at 300 yards with slugs. I couldn't hit anything lol. But the cool thing was the sun was setting low behind me and I could see the slug airborn almost the whole way to the berm. Neat to watch for sure. And yes just like a rainbow as far as trajectory goes lol.
