Rifled slugs through modified choke barrels... how will this perform?

It's been my experience that rifled slugs shoot better through an Improved Cylinder choke than through an un-choked barrel (Cylinder Bore).

Who shoots them through a Modified choke? Do they shoot well? Would you rely on the accuracy at 25y and in?

You can absolutely rely on them through mod choke. I used to shoot decent groups with rifled slugs at 75 yards with fixed full choke and no optics. I don't think you will find much difference in accuracy between different chokes at such close range as 25yds.

Try different brands and weights of rifled slugs. Find out which one shoots best out of your gun. I've used Brenneke's out of a full choke and it perfomed best out of my gun. I have another shotty that likes the cheap federal slugs out of a mod choke. Experimentation and range time are always fun.

Wouldn't a tighter choke cause the slug to deform and tumble?

I believe the rifling on a slug is more there to allow for the slug to deform through the barrel rather than giving it spin. Having even contact with the barrel should make it shoot straighter.
