Rifling a barrel

yes it icommon in commercial operations but its generally requires a pull through hydraulic operation guided with the same rate of twist as the progressive broach, same method as buttoned rifling the first method is cutting the second is swagging. Suprisingly the swagging does not involve much higher hydraulic pressure, but when done well gives a smoother finish. Both methods were used at the cooey winchester plant in BRIGHTON AND I think latter in COBOURGH. arth
