Rim X

He has a Facebook page. Indeed just a week ago he posted a Rim-X build he spun up. If you don't do FB, msg me and I'll send you his phone number. He did my centerfire rifles.

I have not shot any Rem. 700 footprint rimfire , from what I've read
and seen I believe the Rimx is going to be my first decision to buy.

Any encouragement or discouragement ?

I'd put the RimX as the nicest choice. It certainly has the best magazines.

The only bad thing I've heard about the RimX is the extractors can break in certain situations. I can't remember the exact situation though.

She's a niiiice!
Put a proof on mine. Timney diamond.
Bell m40 stock. Arken.
Only thing hindering accuracy is the big turd yanking the trigger. You'll love it. Every magazine should be like the rimx style.

It depends if you like working a 90 degree bolt or not. They all seem to have their little quirks. Rimx has some nice magazines and probably easier feeding out of the box.
Sometimes a Vudoo has a few feeding issues but it depends on the adjustability of the chassis. Vudoo is supposed to have new magazines coming but when...who knows.

Be sure when buying a rimx to buy spare parts kits. The extractor and tensioner spring especially should be treated as wear parts and replaced regularly. These parts are vital to smooth feeding and extraction and most issues can be resolved by changing these parts.

The thing that sold me on the RimX was the ability to use prefit barrels, and do things on my own. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a gunsmith, but having the ability to mount an IBI prefit with the barrel nut, and have a bit of a tighter chamber for your ammo just says something to me. Change ammo, and easily change the chamber tightness

Plus the easy ability to change up calibers from 22 lr, 22 wmr, 17hmr and 17wsm was a huge factor. I was hoping to get into the 17wsm, but sadly couldn't find a prefit in Canada, and then the ammo was an issue. At most a quick bolt head change, and barrel change and you have a different caliber. I see in the end that Go Big started getting the 17wsm barrels, after a bunch of emails with him.

I have since gone on to other pursuits, but might one day come back and entertain the 17wsm in the RimX platform.
