Rimfire Ammo

An email Tuesday from Tesro indicates that some quantities of Midas and X-Act is currently available. If one dealer has some, so too should others.

Of course it's advisable to test before buying, especially the more expensive varieties such as M+ and X-Act. The name on the box isn't a guarantee of how it will perform in a rifle.

The Tesro email also indicated some "Norma .22LR ammo" is expected next week. The particular variety or varieties of Norma are not specified. Norma appears to be made in Germany by a subsidiary of RUAG, which makes RWS and Geco ammo.

Asked both major distributors recently, here's their response:

Hirsch Precision (Lapua, SK): "Was due in April, hopefully here in about 45 days. Best to check with your dealer as they will be getting product the earliest." (That was on July 6th, so Aug. 20th ish.)

Korth Group Ltd. (Eley): "We expect a sea container of ELEY to arrive mid-August. All ammo sku's will be included in this shipment" (That was on June 28th)

Update today from Tesro.

"We just got in some Norma 22LR. Eley is on the way and we hope to see it within a week or two. SK/Lapua should be arriving in the country within few weeks."

I was in Bullseye on my lunch and they had Lapua X-act and some Eley (I think it was team), and some S&B Canadian Match which I was skeptical about so I picked up a box to see how horrible it might be...
