Rimfire barrel length question

Not many folding or telescoping stocks or otherwise are meant to make things longer.... more likely none.

It's such a mess of legislation that depending on what section you look at things can be argued in different directions.

Lots of stocks out there with LOP adjustments or spacers that do in fact make the gun longer.

Yes that is very true, all my telescoping stocks go in both directions.... :)

I still think our gun laws are beyond poorly written.

The fact the OP is stressing about running a commercially made shorter barrel on a 10/22 suggests a need for a simplified system.

Our laws are poorly written to aid in police with laying a charge, even if they are wrong, or don't know the laws.

If adding a longer buttpad counts as OAL. That can be taken off with a screw driver, a threaded muzzle that you need a wrench or tool should.

Buddy has a friend that fighting a charge as police thinks his 14" Dlask barrel shotgun is a saw off.

Hopefully we will see shift of attitude from the RCMP in coming years and a return to supporting law abiding gun ownership and a focus on reducing violent crime and theft.

We don't have the resources and time to waste on nonsense anymore and it's possible that we will soon see a reduction of middle and upper management across the board with new technology.

Most of the financial waste and dumb ideas seem to originate from the upper levels of organizations and bureaucracies today.

As long as they're in Liberals pockets. I doubt we will see a switch. Was told you'll gonna start seeing more town police or provincial police, as Ottawa doesn't always have the province best interest in mind.

I always thought that these short barrels should all be stamped and roll marked as to what the manufactred length is.

There are FRT #'s for the short barreled guns, but really nothing stopping someone cutting down a 28" 870 barrel to 14".........who can really tell the difference just by looking.

How do you prove a barrel left the factory at a 14" length if it's not stamped "14 inches"

Most do. All Dlask barrels are marked.

Chances are good a 28" barrel is not going to be cylinder bore but I get your point.... our gun laws are mostly inane.

Almost like there is nothing stopping anyone from doing an act that is outlawed. OMG! Think of the children! What we need is more bureaucratic rules about everything to make sure we are good boys. See the flaw in your point of view? There is no level of regulation or compliance that actually makes us safer.
