Been looking for ideas on how to use Rimfire casing and came up with the idea of making drink coasters.

First mold i got was a little small but the second one makes a great coaster.

Stuff from Michaels. Each coaster is approx 4 oz to fill.

Send me the link to that .50 an once resin, I haven't seen anything below $30 for kit

Great job and awesome idea! As usual we have the " KNOW IT ALL PEANUT GALLERY"! Volume wise you are spot on with 4 oz per coaster taking the average size plus the height of the empty average empty 22 rimfire cartridge. I could waste the time with the formula for volume of a cylinder but I wont. Check out West Epoxy system on line. It is used in industry as well as marine applications and is an excellent product that's probably tougher and clearer than what ur presently using. Send me a PM and ill buy four from you at ur asking price. Cheers fljp200 Chris

I hate to be the guy who rains on the parade but a coaster should have some ability to absorb or contain the moisture/condensation from a cold drink. I applaud the effort, really I do, but it doesn't actually look like it would work well as a coaster.

Not a problem. Invert them, open ends up, for use as coasters. To empty any accumulated moisture, hold them open end down over a sink.
