Hi again,

Is there any point to adjusting parallax on a Bushnell 10x40mm to say, 60 yards or so? Will it ruin the gig at 150-200 yards? Is DOF too small at short ranges to put parallax correction at a flexible range? Should I leave it adjusted at 100 yards, or have it adjusted to something shorter?

The error is not great if you keep your eye reasonable centred in the ocular, and are not looking to shoot two bullets through one hole. For target shooting, its important as tiny errors in aiming cost points, but for shooting varmints, you won't even notice it.

You can often do it yourself, if you dare. The objective end of the scope often has a locking ring that you can unscrew. It may be the lead edge of the scope. After that, you will see the inside revealed is threaded. The front lense group can be turned, often with your fingers, to move it in or out. After you find the right spot, reinstall the locking ring. I posted pictures in an old thread showing what it looks like on a particular Bushnell.

I did a couple old Bushnells myself years ago, using my jackknife for a tool but had nothing to lose . I was hoping someone was setting them the way Korth does Leupolds. I could see it being a great scope on a .22 rimfire, but would hesitate to start in on a new one.
