I was wondering if anyone here shoots rimfires other than the above.Where is ammunition available I have heard of cases with of set primers and looking for more information.Any experience with the old .25, .32, .41 rimfires would be appreciated.

Sorry Turkeyslayer, I can't help you but hopefully bringing your thread to the top will help a bit ;).

I havn't ever seen ammunition in stores for these calibers. You would likely have to ask around or do a WTB add on here for something like that and see if you can find what you are looking for :)

Google "Old Western Scrounger" they stock many of the old rimfire rounds. Not cheap......but worth it. If you can afford a .44rimfire Spencer, you can probably afford the ammo!

GOTO www.dixiegunworks.com then "reloading" then " brass cases and primers". Calling Dixie and ordering is the only way you will know if they will ship to Canada, it is for obsolete guns so it may be okay.

The Henry also famously used the .44 rimfire to good effect - also recall that it used dual firing-pin hits on the ammo so as to ensure proper ignition in the course of battle.

Then there's the little .41 rimfire, which I firmly believe should be re-produced in its original loading velocities and fired out of a carry pistols with actions similar to that of the Drotik (single and three-round burst). This would make a lovely (and legal) carry piece!

I'm willing to put up some start-up capital on this one if you are...

:)

I was thinking recently that a .25 rimfire would be a nice trail gun as it has more punch than a .22 yet was built on the same frame in most cases.also i was looking at several .41 rimfire caliber derringers and revolvers and thought it was a shame they could no longer be used.Anyone else with anythoughts/
