Long story short, i want a rimfire with a jewell trigger.
By the looks of things I am stuck with remington. There is a discontinued trigger for the sakos, but it looks hard to come by.

My question is: Is there another model besides the 40-x that will accept a remington 700 trigger?

Is there anything you can tell me about the 40x? is it mag fed or single shot? are the mags readily available? plastic or steel? 5,7,or 10 shot?
There isn't a pile of information on these rifles out there on the WWW.

40X and 40XB typically are single shot target rifles. Magazine fed sporter versions are available from the Rem custom shop as are the target rifles.
Examples of the sporters can be seen periodically on GunsAmerica website or GunBroker website. 40Xes appear periodically on the RF EE. Currently the DCM(Directorate of Civilian Marksmanship in the US)is reviewing a number of 40X RF and a number of other RF models to be decommissioned from military inventory for release to the public - best of luck in getting one!
AFAIK the 40x and XB and sporters are the only Rem RF models that Jewel triggers will fit.
Magazines BTW are 5 shot, metal and not readily available. I am unsure if the 500 series mags will work. Prepare to pay 2-3K $ for a sporter. They are typically ordered with higher grade wood and you will pay for the exclusivity.

remington plus

my 40x and 40xrbrks kevlar stocked custom shop have jewel triggers,

also others I have sold such as suhls halls swindlehursts and the new stiller rimfires (notsure on them as they are a 40x clone but some issues)
and the new baity custom rimfire looks nice,

I have a sako with jewell and someone else is now making them but the name escapes me,

there are other actions but not up in canada, the turbo comes to mind, I started the FRT page to import them but their license ran out so they canot be had in canada at this time, (and he was very sick)
also allan halls license ran out so he is not renewing them halls are great and so is the swindlehurst by kelbly,

if you go to the jewel get the one with 4 oz to 18 oz or so not the 2 oz unless you have done some BR before the 4 oz is quite smooth and hard to tell the difference and I shoot centerfire for canada,

more later perhaps Jefferson

and thanks to the guy who PMed me for this thread missed it
