Thinking of going down the rabbit hole into one of these. For the people that have shot both which did you prefer?

I prefer rimx but, the vudoo has the extractor allowing you to single load and it has zero failure to ejects. Chevy vs Ford otherwise imho
I use my rimx to screw around in the yard and snipe vermin. Love it honestly but considering selling it to fund a new toy.

I owned both in 2023. I shot them back to back with everything else being the same - just changing the barrel action and magazine.

I preferred the RimX, so I kept it.

RimX advantages:
- double stack magazines that are shorter and much more reliable than Vudoo style
- prefit barrels
- perfect feeding every time (Vudoo has feeding challenges and a difficult bolt close)

When I looked at going into this rabbit hole I had the same debate.

I went RimX because of the ability to play with the barrels myself, and the opportunity to go different calibers with a barrel swap, and the superior alum magazines.

I used the IBI barrel with a barrel nut, "like savage nut" and gave me the ability to tighten the barrel on a bit more to better match ammo choice. Plus I really wanted a 17 wsm. I eventually ended up selling it off and going to an anschutz I always wanted, as I could not source a 17wsm barrel. They are now more readily available and I might relook at this again one day.

Thanks. Didn’t know you could change calibres.

I think the 22 wmr and the 17 hmr are a simple barrel swap, the rest is the same. You can change the bolt carrier(part of bolt only) and magazine to go from say 22 lr to 17 hmr, with the barrel swap.

The 17 wsm needs a new bolt, magazine and barrel. The receivers are all the same on them.

The voodu rifles your purchase all set up and are not an easy barrel sway, as there are more details to align, so they don't offer "prefits" for them. You purchase minimum the barreled action. The rimx you can purchase it all as parts and either have a smith put it together, or do it at home in minutes as long as you order a prefit barrel for it.

Vudoo actions can be purchased without being barreled. A gunsmith will be required for barrel installation however. If I own an extremely accurate gun I’m not likely to swap barrels, especially in rimfire. Just buy another gun. It’s like having one scope and having to rezero every time you put it on another gun. Major pita. I use to do it and it’s a waste of ammo and time. Just my old opinion.

Just an FYI Vudoo is no longer exporting "Actions only" outside of the US.
