Ring selection and size for PST 6-24 x 50

I just bought a Vortex Viper PST 6-24 x 50 with a 30mm tube. I will be mounting it on a heavy barrel R700 using a Talley 1 pc 20 MOA base. At this point I'm looking at rings somewhere in the $100 neighbourhood such as the Viper rings. First of all, am I looking for med or high rings? Also, does anyone have suggestions for a good ring to look at?
 
Viper low rings on your setup will fit with room to spare.

This is based on I've ran that exact setup.

You may use this calculator to determine what height do you need. I had high NF rings with the Vortex PST when I had it on my 17HMR. The setup was ideal but I have to say that the scope bases were very tiny. You need to check everything first and then pick the right high for your application.
