Hello and Merry Christmas !

I hope Santa found everyone.
He found me and gave me a NF SHV. Sweet!

It's going to go on my MDT and need some advice for my mounting options.
Im thinking xtra high rings or a Unimount of different brands.
Your thoughts? Experiences?

Thanks !

Cheers,
Tony

Anything that is AR15 height will work, which consist of pretty much every uni-mount out there. If you do go for individual rings, get yourself some ATRS ones. Unimounts have some advantage in that they are one piece, and have a fairly slick look.

I'm leaning to a uni mount. Just wondering about size. Was looking at rings at Alberta Tactical. Very nice kit. Wondering what size.
Will a 56 bell not touch the rail with most unimoints?

The outer optical diameter is 65mm for your scope so you will need a mount that is at least 33mm to the center of the tube if you have a solid rail. Or 18mm of clearance to the bottom of the tube. This is the absolute minimum I would go a few mm higher to be safe also if you buy a mount with a slope for long range (20moa is common) you will need to leave a bit more room for that also. Different manufacturers have different heights for high and extra high so you will have to get the exact measurement of the rings before ordering.

dont buy a sloped mount, the rifle has 20moa built into it.

just place the scope on the rifle and use stacks of quarters to determine the height need for the rings, measure the quarters and buy the rings.

i used a Spuhr on mine. SP-3006 might works well on your setup

As powerwagon said don't use a sloped mount on a slopes rail. I made that mistake once the first time I dealt with a sloped rail I ended up not having enough adjustment to zero the scope. Lol
