rings and mounts options

I have a remington 700 SPS in .223 coming in this week. I bought a bushnell banner dusk and dawn 4-12X40mm scope too. I need to buy some rings and mounts. Im not sure if i need to buy high or medium rings.


if someone could tell me which sizes to buy I'd greatly appretite it. Even a good brand would help too. I've never mounted a scope on a rifle before, I've always got the gunsmith to do it when i bought the rifle from him. This is mail order so i'll probably do it myself.

Get yourself a set of medium Tally lightweights. The base and ring are a single unit. Mounting a scope is simple. With the Tallys in hand, degrease the reciever holes then place the base on the reciever. Put a teeny dab of nail polish on the screw thread and snug the screws evenly with an allen wrench. Place the scope in the rings & set for your eye relief. Evenly snug the ring halves down taking care not to let the scope rotate to keep the crosshair vertical/horizontal. Head to the range and enjoy.
