Rings for 56mm scope, but conflicting internet info.

Brief background: I've had a 1-8x24mm LPVO on my Ruger American Ranch 5.56 (gen 1) for a while, and it was fine for 200 yard shots (sub 2 inch groups at 200 yards when the shooter does his part). I simply used whichever rings I had laying around, and they happened to be medium rings, and the scope looked goofy high, but it was the perfect height for my cheek weld (fat cheeks).

I'm going to mount a Vortex Venom 5-25x56mm scope on it. I've had a frustrating time reading conflicting tips on what ring heights to use, whether to get a single mount or separate rings, or even whether to get a mount with a cant vs none.

What are your thoughts on the Primary Arms GLx 34mm cantilever scope mount with a 20 MOA cant? I am planning to swing by Tenda to pick it up. The 1.5 inch centerline height looks high, but that might work for my fat face. I use AutoCAD and other drafting software for work, and I've calculated that I will only need between 1.05-1.15 inches of centerline height for the scope to clear the bell of my rifle. The other one I'm looking at is the Leupold QRW2 High 34mm riflescope rings. I'm still on a budget so I'm cutting off my options at $180.

Goal for the rifle + scope combo: Shoot at ORA events, and Mapleseed Known Distance events. Distances will be 100 to 600 meters, but 800-1000 would be nice if possible.

Looking forward to any advice/tips/recommendations, thank you.

Comfort is my first priority, although a high 1.25” rings sometimes doesn’t look very appealing for the rifle, in my case I find it comfortable to look into the scope . The MBrace and MDT Rings 1.25” just fit better for me than a 1.18” of Sphur. , the 1.18” will clear even with the lens cover.

If you want to make it right don't worry about whatever scope height number, but pay attention to your body posture - comfort.
A golden rule is - close your eyes, bring the gun to your aiming position (be that handheld or at the bench) -> open your eyes... where do you see the scope eye box? Is it low or high or whatever... and go from there.
Me personally like a little bit higher scope, and the "cheek weld" is not touching the soft cheek muscle full with blood vessels but more sitting possibly on jaw bone ;)
btw, my scope bell is 74mm, so that will make it really high by somebody's standards.
