Anyone have any advice what rings to get on a savage 10ba with Weaver rail? I'm looking at a 5x25x56pmii or a 3x27x56 PMIi with 34mm tube. Let's talk about this friends

Can't go wrong with a SPHUR mount! They make 34mm with built-in level, and different cant options. Of course, a S&B + Sphur is about 3x the cost of the rifle itself!

Haha yeah trust me the next item on the list is a PGW coyote. But till then the savage 10 will be alright. At least I can have fun with the scope till I can conjure the money for a pgw

Your making good choices the scope matters more than the rifle, I have a pgw coyote and the only downside is you have no excuses if you miss it’s all you. Rings are personal but don’t cheap out Night force, Near manufacturing mag mount or sphur all good choices.

I’m considering spending the money to get a sphur quick release mount anyone run one yet, for the cost i’m leaning towards a near mag mount.

I don’t have the quick release version of the SPHUR, but with 4 screws to undo and then torque back down when moving my scope, the standard SPHUR is very fast to switch over and retains zero incredibly well, plus the built in level and clever levelling tool that ensures the scope is properly aligned in the mount.

Brilliant.

I have a Near mount with 15moa cant along with his rail of 45moa for a total of 60moa.

Keep in mind if you can get a combo with around 50moa of cant, you can make use of most of the elevation travel of either of those scopes and dial up to ~2000m without holdover.

Edit: I thought this was a .338 Lapua rifle but the same holds true for a smaller cartridge, the difference being the effective range. 50moa total elevation will still get you nearly full dial-up.
