I just purchased a Weatherby vanguard s2. I intend to use talley rings as weatherby recommends them and they manufacturer weatherbys own branded rings for this rifle and i want a flawless scope mounting experience.

I intend to mount a Bushnell Trophy 2-6x 32mm scope on it for now, as i have one on hand already, i realize this will work with the low rings for sure as its only 32m objective. However im thinking i may upgrade scopes to a 40-44mm objective at some later point.

Should i buy medium rings then? or will a 40-44mm still fit with the low rings?

I want to only purchase rings once, if the 2-6x sits a little high im ok with that.

Take your gun into a reputable gun store that has inventory and try them.
Bring a 40 mm scope along or as to borrow one of theirs.
I've done this in the past, but furr kripes sake, buy their chit.

I tried this, all the listed talley distributors on there website close to me do not have the rings in stock.

Amazon on the other hand does have both the low and medium in stock(also $25 cheaper than ISS can get them for, my local gun store), thus my dilemma.

Go low IMO. My NF 42mm compact is mounted on my R700 in extra-low Talleys, just barely clearing the barrel. I don't imagine low rings would present any problem, particularly with a longer scope.
