I just bought a Vortex PST 6-24x50mm. Do I need to buy rings and a mount or just the rings to put it on the Ruger Precision rifle? Can someone help me out quickly before the sale ends? I dont know which to buy? I have never mounted a scope before.

The Ruger Precision Rifle already comes with a 20 MOA rail. You only need to purchase rings or a mount... not both. Seeing that the RPR is a flat top, you're going to have to go with High or Extra High rings to get clearance on your bell.

The 1 Piece mounts will do the exact same job as rings... just depends how much money you want to spend.

Ok good. Why are they the only ones called absolute cowitness though? The rest are jsut rings.

They are a single that would be used to cowitness red dots and such to AR iron sights, they are the perfect height to center a optic with a set of BUIS, but they will work in sets of two also for scopes.

Personally I'd step it up to something a bit better like a matched set of rings that don't need to be lapped.

None of those would be on my list, but I understand sometimes the budget is maxed and if I had to select from those only I'd go with the high cowitness ones you selected.

Lapping uses special tools and compound to match the mating surfaces of the rings while mounted on your gun, it isn't absolutely necessary and they will work without doing it, it's just another step in making all the tolerances of a precision gun as close as you can.

I notice Vortex Canada doesnt offer precision premium rings over 1.2" but Vortex in the U.S does. I bought those co witness rings for $58. IF they really dont work well ill jsut get soemthing better. I dont feel so bad since its only $58
