Thanks for the advice on which scope to buy first off.I tried out a bunch and I bought a Bushnell legend ultra HD 4.5-14X44 for my 700 SPS Tactical chambered in .308.

I looked at two sets of Leupold rings. One that had two hex bolts on each ring holding the scope in the ring which mounted to two individual plates, and the other had 4 hex bolts per ring that mounted to a picatinny rail allowing easier movement if I needed to.

My question is would the one with 4 hex bolts per ring be a little more robust in that it would hold the scope where it should be for longer, or since its .308 does it even matter? It's a bit more expensive and I really can't see myself needing to move the scope to often, if at all, but I am concerned about how well either one will hold.

Thanks guys

personally i am a bigger fan of picitinny rails and "heavy duty" rings, the allow for more adjustability, the ability to add 10/20/30 ect MOA of cant into the rails more adjustability for eye relief and there seems to be more options for rings..
