rings

I have a set of weaver quads on my Tikka T3 in .30-06. These are aluminum rings and was thinking of upgrading to steel. Would you say it is worth it? which rings should I consider? talley? leupold? sako optilocks?

They should hold just fine, and look cool , very nice rings,contact surface to the bases is also good. Can't hurt to bust some caps and see eh

I like to have steel rings on most of my target guns, although I do have a couple pairs of BKL alluminum rings that I use with good results. My favorite rings are the Burris Zee signature rings.

Really don't know if it makes to much of a difference. Upgrading from cheap alluminum rings probably will make a difference in retaining POI, ect but upgrading to steel from a good set of allluminum rings probably won;t make to much a difference.

I have a set of burris signature zee rings on my custom 10/22, I really got to appreciate the post align insert kit with my high powered scope.

so you guys are saying its not worth the extra coin to upgrade my aluminum rings?

Ive got Burris Sig Zee rings on all my rifles. Never had a scope shift on me and love the fact they have the plastic inserts to protect the scope from scrtaches. As a bonus they don't need to be lapped either like some shooters like to do with their steel rings.
