Rio shotshells ?

Used a lot (several thousand rounds) of Rio target loads, as well as a fair bit of their 16, 20 and 28 ga. field loads.

Good quality Spanish-made ammunition.

The "high brass" is still very much favoured by the Europeans !

not good ! at trap today fellow had 3 boxs . brass was damaged and would not feed . was about 5 rounds . the rest seemed o.k. i would not buy . the fellow having problem will not buy any more . they were no cheaper either .

I have shot Kent and Rio loads. Rio makes a 2 1/2" load that didn't work well in my Browning Double Auto. Other than that, I missed birds with both brands.
I liked the Rio's as they "seemed" like less recoil. I like the Kent's, because they "seem" to break targets harder.

definate never buy again for the rio's, very poor quality control, bought 3 boxes and 5 of the first 50 had brass peeled back on them. haven't inspected third box yet.

Shot 4 boxes of Kent (1 1/8 at 1300 ft/sec) at a match a couple of weeks ago. They were a very good shell. As might be expected, the recoil was fairly heavy, but not nearly as heavy as I thought it would be. Wouldn't hesitate to buy Kent again.

DON'T BUY THEM. BAD, BAD, BAD Qc.

The brass at the bottom commonly has a burr on them. I'd say about 4-5 a box (of 25).

This brass, when you load the shell in, rubs against the interior of your chamber. Sure, the brass gives way to the tougher steel, but now you have little slivers of brass in your action, and little rub marks on your chamber.

Spend the extra dollar, buy the challenger, which I've found pretty decent.

Anyone tried the Kent 1 0z. target loads?

Kent have made an excellent product for a number of years now, problem was they were always more expensive than Fed or Win. so not that many shooters bought them. Here in Alberta where I was the rep and an active sporting shooter many of the clubs and shooters supported the great selection they have in their line for clay target shooting.
I'm no longer employd by Kent but I still feel they make a superior product and continue to shoot all of their loads. FS
