Rl 550 primers trouble

I have a RL 550 that i've used to reload 1000s of .45Cal ammo. I'm trying to set it up to reload some .308 and I'm having trouble seating the primer in its pocket. They seem to be off center and too deep, some even get squashed.

I carfully prep the cases after resizing them. I use the 3 primer pocket tools ( military crimp remover, primer cup sizer and primer cup cleaning tool) the brass is once fired Federal.

Sound like you are using the wrong shell plate. Should be the same one (#1) for 45acp and 308.

No I'm using the specific .308 conversion Kit, I did try it with the .45 with even worst results. The shell plate seems to be a little off center
