When I insert a mag in the rifle, the bolt catch seems to be pushing on the round making it go up in the receiver and fail to feed. This happenes almost everytime I insert a fresh mag. I eaven had a bullet pushed back in its case.

HELP!

Does it do this with every mag, or are you using the same mag everytime? Got pics of the bolt catch acting on the mag?

Is the bullet flipped upwards soon as the mag is seated, or when the bolt is released?

If it happens as soon as you seat the mag it sounds like the feed lips.

It happens when I seat the mag on every mag I have 1-factory, 2-RRA 10round and 1- 5 round unknown make. I will take some pics later tonight to show the problem.

Separate the upper and lower. Insert a loaded mag into the lower and take a pic please.

Also what type of ammo is it and what is the overall length of the ammo?

It wont do that when the lower is separeted from the upper. I use American eagle and the ones pictured are Hornady TAP. It seems that the claw on the bolt catch is actually catching on the bullet instead of the mag itself.

Look at the bolt catch pin it should sit flush with the shaft when looking from the hammer side, It might have walked forward.

Your mag arm may be threaded in too far. Thus when you push hard to seat the mag the mag arm catches it. I've had that happen before when test firing a new rifle. It's simple. Use a safety flag or something similar to push the mag button in as far as it will go. The mag arm will pop out on the other side. Loosen it a turn and see how it does then.

Thanks Ms. Monger, seems to have solved the problem. Now I have to go back to the range ASAP just to make sure:D
