I know some of you have first hand experience with the M96 (most likely) and possibly the XCR as well.

I'd like to hear some comparissons of the M96 (and XCR if possible) to the AR15 platform. Which is more robust? More reliable? a better design? etc.

For a black rifle, the Robarms have the advantage of not being restricted in versions with 18.5"+ barrels. They are also heavier and are less proven than the AR system.

What does the future hold for the M96 now that the XCR is being produced? Will both rifles be offered concurrently, or will the M96 fade away in favor of the newer XCR design?

Any known issues with either gun?

And lastly - for out of the box configuration, what would you rather have? An M96 with 20" tube, an AR15A2 or A4 with 20" tube, or an XCR with 20" tube?

I've got 2 Ar's that I'm happy with, but have ZERO experience with a Robarm design. Would I maybe happier with one of those?

Supposebly the XCR wasnt even tested at the SCAR trials because they forgot to issue a blank firing attachement. Robarm likes to forget things, you can see it in all the upgrades they had to issue for the M96. To get people to buy there M96 they promised belt fed attachements, X39 conversions and instead came out with Bren configurations. And I doubt they have the production capacity to make more then 1 firearm long term.

It is not looking good for the XCR. I might just go with a HK SL-8 with the magwell adapter. As for the XCR; No updates since the summer, and nothing heard about them recently.

So in other words, stick with the Ar for now unless I can live with a cheapo 180B or I want ot shell out for a SIG black special or H&K and wait for it to come in.

I would like to use the XCR for 3 gun, and also use it for Varmint. SO non-restricted is what I have been looking for. The Bushmaster Carbon rifle that Queststar is selling seems like a decent price, but it is an AR, and would therefore be restricted. Just get both??? Well, my budget says no. I think the reason I am hung up on the AR is the ease of use with the controls. The AR mag release is something that can't be improved upon. I haven't used the HK SL8 mag release, but it doesn't look that difficult to get use to. I like the features of the XCR, gas piston, same controls as the AR, and folding stock, built in rails, 18.5 inch barrel= a good non-restricted rifle with all the positives of an AR, but the compliance to non-restricted for varmint hunting, and no papers for transport. I have AR gear (mags, pouches, Holosight, etc), so aside from the cost of the rifle, no extra expenses.

So in a nutshell, I am trying my best to hold out for the XCR, and see what the outcome of the QC on finished product. I emailed Wolverine, and explained that I understood that there are always delays. I think I would rather wait an extra month or five( ), than get an inferior product that needed to have parts replaced that were sub-standard. I hope they (RA) test the hell out of this rifle, and then test it some more. AM i willing to wait another 6 months to a year, no, but I won't be buying something that is not reliable either.

I too am holding out for an XCR, but who knows. My particular plus for them is that my AR mags work with the XCR. Can't do that with a PE90.

I have one of the later M96`s and it works just fine, I would like to get one of those Bren kits for even more fun with it. It is alot heavier but my AR is catching up in weight with all the crap I`m hanging off of it

I've given up on the XCR. I thought it was my holy grail, having everything I wanted my AR180 to be. I've since decided that I can make something better and probably have it done beofre any one ever handles an XCR. :?
